Dave’s Garage Traverse City was founded in 1995 as an alternative to the dealership service experience. They built their reputation on trust and were able to offer a more detailed and personal experience. In 2014 Craig Olvey and Jamie Laferriere were talking with the original Dave and he expressed his desire to spend less time working and pursue his other passions in life. Craig and Jamie thought that they could become the new owners of Dave’s Garage and continue to grow the business. At the time Craig and Jamie were both employed with the Bill Marsh Automotive Group as the parts and service managers. With a combination of over 45 years of dealership experience and a passion for customer service between them, they were ready to pursue their own dreams. So, in September of 2014, they became the new owners of Dave’s Garage.
Dave’s Garage Traverse City continued its growth under Craig and Jamie. As their reputation grew, the opportunity to add a second location came along. In June of 2019 Taghon’s Garage in Empire Michigan became part of the Dave’s Garage family. Taghon’s was a Leelanau County landmark that had been operated by the same family for over 90 years! The reputation of Taghon’s was stellar and the combination with Dave’s Garage was a winning formula.
